Kathy’s Cancer Breakthrough
Kathy White is giving God all the praise and glory for her 3rd victory over cancer! In 2004, after being healed of cancer twice, Kathy began to have pain in her side and mentioned her discomfort to her doctor. The doctors performed a CT scan and a biopsy, where they discovered that she was in the 3rd stage of cancer. The 3rd stage is the most intense, but Kathy just began to learn how intense it really was. She began to lose her hair, and they told her on February 24th 2005 that the cancer was in her abdomen, muscles, pelvic, left side lining, chest, and liver. Even though the news was full of despair, Kathy kept her faith close to her heart. She asked for prayer from her church, and stayed strong in her faith the entire time. Every Sunday morning Kathy would stand up during testimony time and give God praise and glory for all that He was doing in her life. She went to the Cancer Treatment Center of America in Tulsa, OK and went through chemotherapy for 7 months.
On October 21st of 2005 Kathy came home to TCF and proclaimed the victory God gave her! She was cancer free!
Along her journey God supplied monetary blessings and sewed up any holes in their finances. God also blessed Kathy with the love and support of an amazing daughter named Maranda; who stood by her side and helped hold up her hands when they were weak.
Rain Rain Go Away
Kaylee, 4 yr. old daughter of Stephen and Tiffany Smith, was riding with her mother to bring her dad some lunch. The weather was looking really bad and Kaylee started to pray saying “Lord, you can make the rain go away. You are so strong! Please keep daddy safe. Amen.” As soon as she stopped praying the clouds literally parted, and there were no clouds over HB&G. Kaylee smiled and said to God, “I knew you could do it! Good job God!”
The Power of Prayer!
July of 2004, two days before the tournament games for baseball started, David Norris (then 11 years) was hit in the chin by a baseball at the end of practice. The pain continued to worsen and David feared that his jaw was broken. His parent’s took him to the hospital where x-rays revealed a 2mm gap in his chin. The physician’s diagnosis was that David couldn’t play in the baseball tournament and that a visit to the oral surgeon would likely required his jaw to be wired shut.
David was deeply disappointed at this due to all the hard work he had put in to playing throughout the season to make the top 13 in his league. His family also wanted him to fight for his healing. The family decided to bring in the families in the church who could believe with them, lay hands on David, and ask for a miracle to come. David had numerous people do just that! At one point during prayer he felt a pop in his chin and the pain dulled.
When David went to the oral surgeon, he confirmed that a miracle had taken place. When the x-rays were retaken at his office they showed that there was only a crack and that he wouldn’t have to wire the chin. He would also be allowed to hit in the tournament. The family still has both sets of X-rays and David has a strong faith to go with them.
Youth Pastor’s Life Spared!
6:43 a.m. March 8th of 2004 Shane Norris literally saw his life flash in front of him! Hwy. 231 a very busy highway that is always full of semi’s was indeed busy that morning. Shane was in the right lane as the cars started to slow, so he moved into the left lane to go around them. A semi with an empty flatbed trailer pulled into the median into oncoming traffic. Shane said, “I figured the best thing to do was to hit the wheel wells of the trailer so I didn’t end up underneath it. “ Shane walked into the ambulance and walked out of the hospital with only bruising and sore ribs from the air bag. The car he was driving wasn’t so lucky.
Several months before, God had placed a deep burden on Shane’s wife and two children to start praying on the way to school every day for the safety and well being of not only Shane, but all of them. Isaiah 54:17 was one of the scriptures they all would pray while driving.
